Textile Design and Crafts

Roxana is a Freelance Textile Designer and Craft Artisan who designs eco-friendly textiles, home accessories and lighting. Part of her collection is hand-made in her studio. The fabrics she uses are dyed, printed or cut by hand. She also works with found, recycled, discarded and salvaged materials, which are mostly sourced from charity shops, second-hand shops, vintage markets and donations from friends and family.

The other part of her collection is designed by her but made by various small companies in the UK using mainly eco-friendly materials, organic dyes and water-based inks. Every product has an ‘eco’ element in it’s design, whether it is recycled, upcycled or made from organic materials. All product packaging is 100% recycled, 100% recyclable or from sustainable forests.

Roxana’s concept is a result of working in both the Textiles and Interiors industries and realising how much wastage and environmental pollutants they create. She is not en ‘eco-warrior’ as such, but believes that designers should take responsibility for their choices and be aware of how their designs affect the environment. She believes design can be beautiful and sustainable without having an adverse effect on the environment.
